This series of 6 abstract paintings tries to visually depict the line in-between chaos and order. The project was conceived during the uncertain times the pandemic created. Each painting is crafted using specific mechanisms of control and elements of chaos which are brought together using centrifugal motion. Movements are created with custom machines and contraptions that spin on a single axis of rotation.
This creates an effect that is both chaotic and unpredictable, while still seeming balanced.
As an artist I often root the topics I work with in my own personal growth. Working with chaos and order over a period of time allowed me to immerse myself in it and learn from it.
For each painting, I planned my work meticulously. Once I start the painting though, I just have to accept that it isn't going to go according to my plan. As a creator I’m constantly trying to control the outcome, but through this process of painting. I learnt to embrace the chaos more willingly, accept it as part of the outcome.
